Europe is changing fast. Migration and increasing cultural diversity have become a lasting part of European societies. This means more cultures, more ideas, and more chances to grow, but it also means an ongoing need to make sure everyone gets treated fairly.
The truth? Young women with a migrant history, especially those coming from outside the EU, often get left behind. They are dealing with stereotypes, racism, and outdated expectations about what girls “should” be doing. Instead of being heard, they are overlooked and instead of chasing their dreams, they are boxed in.
Teens2Queens is flipping the situation by giving young women with a migrant history a voice, the tools, the confidence, and the support to rise up, speak out, and take control of their future.
A specially developed T2Q Competence Gap Detector helps to assess young women’s competences in the areas of Personal, Social and Learning to Learn, Citizenship, and Entrepreneurship. It provides a clear picture of each woman’s individual strengths and competence gaps and identifies areas where further development would be most useful.
The results form the starting point for the individual T2Q Gab-bridging Training Programme. Based on the competences they want to strengthen, the young women can select the most relevant parts of a fully hybrid training programme and gradually develop their skills.
Currently, 40 young women with a migrant background are taking part in the pilot training and are being enabled to plan and implement their own micro-projects focusing on the challenges of social participation, citizenship and migration. In this way, they can put their newly developed competences into practice, raise awareness of their situation, make their voices heard and develop their own ideas and solutions. In early 2027, the results will be presented to policymakers and representatives responsible for education and migration at the final project meeting in Brussels.
The implementation of the training is documented in the T2Q e-Journal through Learning Diaries. In addition, Expert Key Notes provide insights into the project results and international developments in the field, while some of the most important European Flagship Projects supporting the integration and inclusion of women with a migrant background are presented.
